EV Debug

1.0 What It Actually Does

This is the no-BS debug mode. It bypasses what your camera sees and ignores eye adaptation. Enabling it forces standard exposure settings to show you the true, raw light intensity hitting your geometry.

EV Debug is based on a log2 Maths formula, that's very accurate, it calculates:

  • EV100 at midgray
  • Lux
  • NIT Value

In the example below it reads a pixel that has the values as the following:

Lux: 7392.72

EV Midgray: 11.53

NIT: 2353.2

So the EV100 of the light hitting at that point is 11.53 EV, DrDebug calculates Lux & NIT values from the EV100 Accurately using no rounding or approximation

Lighting Only Mode

It excludes the materials from the scene, allows you to debug the light itself on a clay render.
